A Mona LIsa
The blox bench arrived and from a far it looked amazing. However, up close there were a few dings and 2 missing leg/pads underneath. Tim, at Chiasso, was amazing to work with and very effecient. The bench from a distance was very appealing and looked great by our front door. However, once someone sat on it to put their shoes on, rest, etc. it was still looking great.....but when the weight was lifted off the bench it made a popcan sound when the metal popped back into place. If the weight was heavy enough, like an adult and not a child, the bench would stay bowed in the middle. I was surprised that the bench was not solid. It is hollow underneath. There is a wood rectangular prism shape underneath where sheet metal is bent around the frame. If the bench had more support, I believe it would be a far better, stronger product. So from a far, this piece is like the Mona Lisa--great looking but up close you can see all the imperfections.
