Trendy Trailer - Grand Prize Winner!
Laura's airstream serves many functions: office, kitchen, bedroom, living room, etc. While that alone is impressive, you also chose her as this year's grad prize winner! Like you, we love the retro meets 21st century modern atmosphere Laura has created. In such a small space (188 square feet) there is not much room for anything but the basics. Knowing this, Laura makes every item in her airstream count. The click magnetic spice rack and slide entry caddy are functional and are in keeping with the aluminum look of the exterior. The spots pillow, flower pillow, and mod pillow have a definite retro feel to them. The pillows also help to make the space a bit cozier and turn it into a home away from home. Laura's trendy trailer may be the best use of modern design in a small space yet!

Neutral Nursery
This room is a great example of how modern design can be both contemporary and welcoming. Modern does not mean severe. Neutral colors and the soft texture of the alloy shag rug create a calming atmosphere, perfect for soothing an infant. While the colors of this nursery would work for either gender, the addition of the field flower decals and pink accents lend it a definite feminine feel. Unlike some nurseries, it doesn't seem childish. David won't have to worry about redecorating any time soon - swap out the crib for a bed and even a teenager would feel comfortable living here!

Contemporary Condo
Darren does an excellent job of fitting a lot into a small space. The great room in his condo serves as a kitchen, a dining room, and a living room. The trick is to divide the room without closing off areas. Darren hung the rondo hanging screen between the dining area and the living room, which created separate spaces and still allowed light and air to move freely throughout. The simple color scheme of white and brown with chrome accents unifies the entire condo and adds an air of sophistication.

Decorating with such a bold paint color is no easy feat, but Lorice uses bright colors to perfection in her optimal orange living room. Two white uma chairs and vercelli sculptures add balance to an otherwise extreme palette. By avoiding patterns and opting for clean lines and crisp modern whites, Lorice creates a warm, vibrant energy without feeling too intense. This room works in harmony despite the contrasting colors thanks to two sole pillows on the dark sofa that serve as yellow accents and really tie the space together.

Modern Multiples
Connie created her very own wall-to-wall library with the scooter bookcases. The best part of this modern shelving is its mobility! The bookcases are on wheels, so if Connie gets tired of looking at them or decides she wants a bookcase in another room, all she has to do is roll them wherever she wants. The silver finish of the bookcases complement the chrome accents on her dining table and fit the overall color scheme of the room. the books provide pops of color against the gray walls and make the bookcases look like modern wall art!
